As for our group, we were born into Ukrainian music at the end of 2002 the beginning of 2003. Why we were born still remains a mystery. You can only guess that we felt our music from the bottom of our hearts, and that it is here that we can build a home for and of the poetry and harmony that lives within us trying desperately to find its way out. The first steps were unstable � it�s always difficult to venture toward something new and unknown, to have music step to the fore and not something like work or studies... We played instruments that were twice as old we were, conducting rehearsals at each of our places in turn. The instruments would break; we would �solder� them and then play and play... The musicians in our group changed several times, it took us a long time to find the right people, people who could feel the music of �Yaka isnuE�. We are thankful to all of those participant musicians it was a real pleasure working with them. The first concert of the group took place on January, 26 2003, at the Festival �The 25th Shot�. We were trying our best, but the show was not really a success, and if it were really not for the cheers of the audience, we would, probably, never have gone on stage again. It was after this experience that we made a final decision when we realized that �Music is exactly what we�ve been looking for. Music is apart of us and we apart of it � and the devotion is lifelong�. Since then rock-and-roll entered our life and we started to work seriously on our songs and the art of performance. It wasn�t long before we got our studio, with decent musical instruments. Finally, we acquired the tools of our chosen profession � expensive, quality musical instruments. Throughout this experience, we collected a lot of material from which we were able to write and play very special music. Then the time arrived to make an important step � we recorded our first album. Eventually, after much soul searching over which studio would be the best for us and our music, our dreams came true and we chose the Studio JV �Studiya Leva.� This really was a major turning point in the life of �Yaka isnuE�. The Studio played a very important part � we started to feel different music trends, we learned to work as a team and to listen to one another, to experiment with a variety of sounds and instruments. The real pleasure that we felt was that of cooperation with Oleg Myshlovsky, our sound engineer. He penetrated into the very depth of the emotional spirit of our music, he realized what it was we wanted to express. After only four months of working with Oleg, our expectations were followed by the birth of the disk �Emotions.� The songs that are on this disk are available for download at our site, the �Discography� section. |

Taras Terletsky � vocalist  So, I go first... I started playing the guitar for a higher cause ... sounds philosophical? The truth is that I started playing the guitar because my class-mate played the guitar and all girls in our class liked him � that�s quite frank now! It was only much later that it occurred to me that music is something I can�t live without. This, however, didn�t prevent me from taking a degree in law and to be an ace student. In college, when I participated in a humor contest, I got acquainted with Sery Sokolov. That was really cool� In 2001... I wrote my first song: �I love you.� For a period of time I was a real fan of DDT with Valery Shevchuk. I even made some attempts to become a bard (by the way, I am still very much fond of listening to these St. Petersburg rock-n-rollers). But after I became acquainted with the works of such bands as �Paradise Lost� and �Rammstein,� I realized I needed more space, more sound and more than 6 strings. I participated in several groups as a guitar player, but something was missing. It was at that time (as a second year student) I was happy to welcome into my life the present concert manager of �Yaka isnuE� � Svitlana Lyuta (then a student of the Lviv Conservatoire). It is because of her that I know the difference between a harmonious and melodious minor key and a whole bunch of other musical terms. I really want to mention my parents who have been totally supportive all the way through both as far as music is concerned and everything else. My father presented me my first guitar. That�s the way it all developed, until I decided that it was high time to gather a real group in November 2002... It must have been for this reason that I met Vitaliy Lityahin, then Shkred, and then, as you know from our CV, we blasted onto the music scene with our first performance and so on. Since then my job has been that of group producer, vocalist, guitarist and song writer. It has been for me both a relaxation and a work of real devotion. Serhiy Sokolov � guitar I still don�t know how it happened that I connected my life with music. I never tried to write songs or play the guitar until once a Muse that was flying by accidentally hit me with her magic stick. My first song �Dissident� was a kind of protest against democracy and corruption. Later, after a pint of beer, I heard that Taras Terletsky was putting a musical group together. I thought �Cool� and I told him I played the guitar. �Come to the rehearsal on Thursday,� he said. I smiled back and started to wonder how I was to going to get a guitar and also to learn to play it by Thursday. Many things have happened afterwards, which have instilled in me an appreciation for these mottos: �Follow your heart� and �Reach out for your wish.� When that wish is strengthened by a profound belief and commitment to your group (who all share a burning love for this thing that we do) the wish is undeniably yours. Serhiy "Shkred" Yurovych � bass guitar The burning affection of my life is smoking. I would smoke and smoke and smoke... I would rather breathe the smoke instead of air. �sides I have a bass. I�d play and play and play it, until my fingers smoked. I�d even let my fingers burn, so much would I play. I would only leave two fingers � for smoking, �cause I really love it. Vitaliy Lityahin � keyboards All of my life is connected with music. I have been learning music ever since ... pampers. For a while I played an ancient looking �Ukraine piano,� until I became popular. I got a synthesizer, which was almost as rare of a beast, for that time, as were pampers. With my �Yamaha� it was already possible to make our first phonograms. With time I got the wind of earning easy money, but soon it became boring. I got an urge for the real art. I entered the Lviv Shashkevych Music High School, but it turned out that this ground was not fertile for me. And then, I learned that a new group was looking for a keyboarder. The group at that time did not even have a name, a studio for rehearsals or any idea about what they were going to be doing. But the guys were cool, and so was the idea. And this is how I opened a new leaf of my life together with �Yaka isnuE�. Vitaliy Kukharsky � drums I love music, and it must be absolutely evident. I am a musician; I studied at the conservatoire for music theory. I have been a percussionist since 2002. I participated in a number of projects �SamaZnaeshHto� (�You Know Who?�), �Kazus� (�Extraordinary Occasion�), �VilnyViter� (Free Wind). I played in �Neon� as a session musician, and it was quite by accident that I got into �Yaka isnuE� it turned out to be first-class. Generally, I would not talk much about myself; I would rather have other people pay the tribute. I love girls and I love beer, and also I want to become a Professional sound producer. |
